TUSA Universal Optical Frame kit including prescription lenses

I bought these because I want to get a prescription mask and thought that getting a cheap insert for my existing mask would help me in getting the right prescription (I usually wear varifocals so need to find a compromise in a diving mask). Given my use for them, it would be great if it were possible to get different strength lenses in each side. As it was I ended up buying 2 of these with different strength lenses and then popping the lenses out and switching them around.

Having played with them for a while, I am happy that I think I now know what strength lenses to get in a dive mask. However, using these I did have some issues. Although they fitted into my mask and stayed in place, being a little thick they did cause some pressure and discomfort on the bridge of my nose. This may be (most probably is) due to my mask being fairly low volume and so sitting close to my face.

I also had some issues with then fogging up. On my most recent dive I had issues that these were misting up on the surface facing my mask lens. Possibly spraying them with some demister would have helped, but it may be worth remembering to remove the lenses and treat both sides for misting instead of just the side facing you. I guess that makes sense now, but maybe not something I thought of at the time.

I will keep these and my existing mask as a backup, but I am still planning to get a new mask with the prescription lenses fitted as a main pair.

I didn't want to spend too much as only going snorkelling twice on a cruise holiday next year and might not use these again. This solution seems to work great paired with an inexpensive mask. It was a snug fit though, so perhaps I was lucky with the fit. I rounded down my prescription (from 4.5 to 4) which seems to give me reasonably good vision, so I'll certainly enjoy the experience more with the help of this handy solution.
